European Water House
The European Water House project aims at demonstrating the vast potential of appropriate water technology and its practical applications.
Since Europe faces a variety of water-related challenges which has to be addressed and in order to tackle those issues and to position common goals and objectives for the European water sector, the European Water Partnership proposed a Water Vision for Europe in June 2008 during the launch of its Aquawareness Programme at the European Parliament.
This Water Vision was drafted during a multi-stakeholders process. The Vision serves as a starting point for policy making and future project setting of the European water sector and initiates the union of multi-stakeholders to join actions on advanced sustainable water management.
Based on its principles, the European Water House is being established as to make the Water Vision for Europe visible and applicable, to demonstrate that working together with private and public structures, local, regional, national and European institutions may turn these principles into a coherent reality for a sustainable future.
