Aquafed joins EWP as 50th member
The European Water Partnership (EWP) is pleased to announce its 50th member organisation, AquaFed, to take part in the Partnership.
The EWP is a fast growing, action-oriented open forum for all stakeholders to find solutions for the water challenges in wider Europe and to stimulate partnerships.
The EWP is proud to be able to welcome its 50th member after just two years. Our members come from a large variety of sectors out of the current EU Member States and wider Europe: governmental agencies (local, national and European), knowledge institutes, private companies, non-governmental organisations, the public and private financial sectors, end-users and civil society groups.
AquaFed is the International Federation of private water operators (www.aquafed.org) created in 2005. The Federation brings together over 200 water service providers operating in 38 countries worldwide.
Thanks to its members, the EWP is currently developing the “Aquawareness” programme promoting principles of advanced sustainable water management, regarding the European Commission’s Communication on water scarcity and droughts, accompanied by a European awareness campaign on Water. The Partnership has also been appointed Regional coordinator for Europe for the 5th World Water Forum taken place in Istanbul in March 2009.
