Summary:The Papier Technische Stiftung (PTS) is a research and consultancy company for the paper industry. PTS offers its customers services in the areas of research, consultancy, measuring and advanced training. It is our goal to support the paper industry in safeguarding and enhancing its economic strength by way of innovative products, environmentally compatible processes and efficient production processes.
     A unique characteristic of the PTS is the close association between research and consultancy: research generates knowledge which is utilized to the customer's benefit in consultancy and which is put into practice in practical solutions. The experience gathered from the consultancy work is fed back into the further development of the research programme. This cross-fertilisation is clearly visible in the area of water management.

Water Activities of the Papier Technische Stiftung

For many years now, the PTS has given considerable attention to water research, focusing on optimisation of water circuits and effluent water treatment plants. The core tasks include saving fresh water, achieving optimum water circuitry an developing cost-effective, reliable effluent treatment concepts. The activities of the PTS in this area made it possible to succesfully develop knowhow at a very high level in a sustainable way and to transfer this knowledge to the industry. The research work and practical experience in water management guarantee that customers profit from the current technological know-how and the expertise of the PTS staff. Holistic problem-solving strategies with comprehensive profitability studies meet the demands of the papermaking industry.
